The Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC) has called for partnership with Subsidy Re-Investment and Empowerment Programme (SURE-P) to boost Nigeria’s domestic tourism assets.
The call is contained in a statement released to newsmen on Monday in Lagos.

Sally Nbanifo-DG;NTDC
Mrs Sally Mbanefo,  Its Director-General, was quoted in the statement as saying that the partnership was to move Nigeria’s domestic tourism promotion from rhetoric to practicalities.

The statement said that the partnership would further explore the immense advantages of exhibiting the country’s potentials to Nigerians and the world at large.

It restated the commitment of the corporation to grow the tourism value chain for jobs and revenues in furtherance of its domestic tourism agenda.

The statement said the corporation would empower local governments at grassroots level, create jobs for youths and reduce urban migration while also organizing seven regional sports carnivals.
“The sports carnival will focus on youth participation and engagement, “ it said.
It unfolded plans by the corporation to publish a calendar detailing the nation`s domestic tourism potentials and assets for visitors and tourists.

The corporation, according to the statement, will also set up an Information Desk at major airports in the country in addition to producing a branded magazine to showcase the country’s tourism assets.
“Part of the corporation’s transformation agenda is to air a television quiz and game show that will educate Nigerians on tourism sites.

“Reward them for visiting the sites and also generate revenue for the corporation, “ it said. (NAN)
